Bring your Strong history over with the CSV file Strong exports. Your workouts and sets come across, and your PRs and charts are rebuilt from them.

Export your data from Strong

Do this on the phone that has Strong installed.

  1. Open Strong and tap the Profile tab.
  2. Tap the gear icon, then Settings.
  3. Tap Export Strong Data on iPhone, or Export Data on Android.
  4. Save the CSV to your Files. It’s usually named strong.csv.
Step 1 of 5 of the Strong import: the four steps to export a CSV from Strong.

Import it into Overlood

  1. In Overlood, open Profile, then Import and export data.
  2. Tap Import history, then Import on the Strong card.
  3. Tap I have the file, upload it, then Choose file and pick the CSV. Overlood reads it and shows how many workouts, sets and exercises it found, and the dates they cover.
  4. If some exercises need your call, resolve them. Then tap Start import.

The import runs on our servers, so you can close the app while it works. To check on it, open Import history and tap Resume on the Strong card.

Step 2 of 5: Upload your export, with a Choose file button for the CSV from Strong.
Step 3 of 5: the import preview, ready to import 959 workouts from 01/01/2019 to 16/08/2021, with 23,000 sets and 12 exercises.
Step 4 of 5: one Strong exercise to resolve, Leg Press (Machine) with 1916 sets, and the choice to Match, Create or Skip it.

What comes across

  • Your workouts, with their name, date, duration and notes.
  • Every set, with its weight, reps, RPE and notes, plus time and distance for exercises that use them.
  • Warm-up, failure and drop sets keep their type.
  • Exercises Overlood knows are matched for you. For an exercise it doesn’t recognize, you pick: match it to an Overlood exercise, create it as your own, or skip it.

What doesn’t

  • Rest timer entries. Strong writes them into the export, but an import doesn’t carry rest times.
  • Sets with no reps, time or distance. The preview tells you how many it skipped.
  • Supersets. Strong’s export doesn’t record them.
  • Very long notes are shortened. The preview tells you how many.

Weights from an iPhone export

Strong’s iPhone export doesn’t say whether a weight is in kg or lb. Overlood reads the numbers in the weight unit set in your profile, and the preview says which unit it used. If you logged in Strong in the other unit, change your unit under Profile, then Display. Cancel the import and upload the file again.

The Android export names its unit, so this doesn’t apply there.

Workouts you already logged

If an imported workout falls on a date you already logged in Overlood, both are kept.

Undo an import

You get one import per source. Revert import on the Strong card removes every imported workout and the custom exercises it created, unless you’ve used one in your own workouts or routines. Workouts you logged yourself stay. After a revert you can import again, and the choices you made for unrecognized exercises are filled in for you.

Tips

  • Import before your next workout, so a PR in it is measured against your real best.
  • On an iPhone export, check which weight unit the preview used. Overlood reads the numbers in the unit set in your profile.
  • Take your time on the exercises it doesn’t recognize. If you revert and import again, your choices are filled in.
